It started in 1984 as a three-night show, a commentary on the events of the previous year and a way to give Newfoundlanders a collective sense of who we are and how our great sense of humor keeps us sane. Now after over 30 seasons, Rising Tide Theatre's Revue continues to fill the province's Arts and Culture Centres and beyond.
2018 was quite a year from the shenanigans inside the House of Assembly with harassment charges flying to the madness outside with the Muskrat Inquiry. Who is telling what truth when and who saw and did what in the high towers of Nalcor and the backrooms of the Confederation building! Come and see our side of the story with scenes from Judge Judy, the musical Grease, and the Knights of the Round Table.
The tales abound. The place goes to pot and the Tories new leader lands a role in a revival of Republic of Doyle in search of a numbered Company.
There is fun to be had from one end of the province to the other as Frank and Mable go salmon fishing, the “oh me nerves” lady takes on busing, our seniors try online banking, bear spray attacks Prince of Wales, Dolphins charm, a Newfoundlander makes it to Jeopardy and much more.
There are laughs galore with plenty of wild characters. Don’t miss all the fun. Opening in Trinity and then heading to St. John’s before embarking on a province-wide tour.
